During open forum at the SGA meeting, Tal Fish, residence director and housing operations manager, addressed students with regards to various living options for next academic year. His presentation specifically targeted current freshman given that more upperclassmen are likely to live off campus.

Next year housing options differ from past years. Story Center, which includes  Colclough, Chandler, and Maynard Hall, will be destroyed, but three new Colonnades buildings will be available. Nevertheless, Fish said only about four Colonnades floors will be available during standard housing registration because the majority of those floors have been designated as learning communities. He advised students intending to live in Colonnades to have a back-up plan prior to registration.

Next year Elon will also introduce student initiated theme housing, which enables students with similar interests to live together in a Danieley flat. Students choosing to live in these flats will receive a $500 budget to spend toward their community interest. Also, while roommates must be of the same gender, both males and females can occupy the same flat. Fish described this as a very liberal move for Elon University.

On another note, SGA voted and passed the budget, which designates the money allotted to each campus organization, with a vote of 31-0-0. Check out the total budget breakdown from campus organizations.
