The School of Communications administration is now considering requiring all communications students to complete a second major, a minor or a semester abroad.

These possible requirements are not currently being formally proposed. They are on hold pending the upcoming general studies review, said Paul Parsons, dean of the School of Communications.

These changes are being proposed for various reasons.

Students who complete an additional major or minor are more marketable upon graduation, said Kenn Gaither, associate dean of the School of Communications.

Students who complete these additional proposed requirements will also have the opportunity to be further challenged across their years at Elon, he said.
