1. Do you need to file? Check out the list of qualifiers the IRS has put together to help you determine if you need to file a tax return. Beware--you probably don’t want to mess with the IRS.
2. If you do need to file, gather the appropriate documents and follow the steps to filing your return.
3. Save money by using e-file, a free service provided by the IRS. E-file asks you questions, like in an interview, to help you get the most money back.
