In the first half, Elon controlled the tempo on both sides of the ball, leading a balanced attack of 201 yards through the air and 151 yards on the ground, and leads 28-7 over visiting Concord University.
Senior running back Dontay Taylor leads the rushing attack for the Phoenix with 53 yards rushing. Junior quarterback Thomas Wilson and senior A.J. Harris have gained a combined 61 yards on the ground.
Through the air, Wilson has connected on 22 of 27 passing, for 201 yards and 3 touchdowns.
Elon junior wide receiver Aaron Mellette leads all receivers with nine catches for 77 yards and a touchdown. Additionally, freshman wide receiver Andre Davis and sophomore tight end Matt Eastman have caught touchdown passes from Wilson.
On the other side of the ball, the Phoenix defense has limited the Concord Mountain Lions to 95 total yards in the first half.
Elon's defense has pressured Concord junior quarterback Zack Grossi to only five yards passing, completing three of his 11 passes in the first half.
Junior defensive back Dale Riley and senior linebacker Joshua Jones leads Elon with five tackles each. 12 different Elon players have recorded tackles in the first half.
Elon has outgained the Mountain Lions 352-95, and has held the ball for nearly 20 minutes in the first half, and has 18 first downs to Concord's six.
