I would have liked to pursue a story on the Ryan Republican Budget last week, but few knew enough about it to provide good insight into its possible effects and ramifications for college students. I plan to put that on the back burner and keep my ear out for any buzz on the matter.
Exploring the organization and purpose of the "Religion Unwrapped" series, scheduled to take place this month, was interesting in itself, but it also gave way to further questions. I learned that some students have reservations about the opening of the Multi-Faith Center in January, and that this series of seminars was designed, in part, to combat those reservations. I hope to later find the root of these concerns and learn if, in fact, they were dissolved by the this series, as well as other to come.
Did you know it's Public Health Week? If not, hopefully my upcoming article in this week's online-only edition of the Pendulum will better explain the purpose of the week's events and how current issues relate to students. Keep an eye out!
