The results of the first-year SGA elections were announced Sept. 5, breaking the nervous silence of students gathered in the Fireside Lounge to hear the outcome.
“This is one of our biggest elections is recent history,” said Executive Vice President Connor O’Donnell, citing the 737 total votes cast.
Alexandre Bohannon was slightly stunned by his victory.
“It’s surreal because the college election process is so different that of high school,” he said. “You have to go to people and talk, talk, talk, and that’s what I love to do. It’s a good feeling.”
He said he wants to be accessible and accountable to his peers at all times.
“I would like to make sure every Elon freshman is heard and has a voice,” he said. “I know a lot of times freshmen get caught up in the process of acclimating to college, but I’m going to strive to make sure every problem is at least heard by me.”
