Kate Middleton's topless picture was an issue very prevalent in the United Kingdom
Kate is the duchess of Cambridge, and is married to Prince William. She is famous and known all over the world with her ties to the royal family. When people first hear about topless photos, they normally assume there is a scandalous situation. However, it appears that Prince Harry is the more “risky” one of the royal family and Kate did not engage in such behavior. According to the Inquisitr, the duchess was sunbathing topless at home and happened to be photographed.
A British man, who works for the French magazine Closer, apparently took the pictures. Apparently, the photographer was directed to wait at the vacation home of Prince William and Kate for several days. The magazine wanted pictures of the Royal Family and sent the photographer to gain more information. The photographer only took the pictures as part of his job. In one comment in the Inquisitr, he mentions that his job is to take the pictures and it is the responsibility of the magazine to decide what they want to publish within their work. The identity of the photographer has not been revealed, and everything is still speculation. It is even possible the photographer can face criminal prosecution for his actions.
The reaction to this particular incident is interesting as well. The Royal Family is upset with the pictures and doing everything to prevent them from being published. In regards to the United Kingdom, it seems that most people are against publishing the pictures. The citizens hold their royalty in high regards, and see such an incident as disrespectful. It is particularly interesting that a British man initially took the pictures. However, other countries in Europe do not necessarily see the royal family in the same light. Other people do not hold the royalty in as high of regards and do not “owe” them anything either. As a result, they are more concerned with their own countries and it is not significantly important to them. Regardless, this is a huge issue of privacy, and a scandal that I think the royal family will try to put behind them.
