It's election season, and tourists from all over are looking to tour President Obama's favorite spots in Chicago.

Hyde Park Barberhop is just one of those places. The shop has been open for 85 years and has served famous clientele like Spike Lee, Muhammad Ali, and the President himself.

Ishmael Coye, who has worked for the shop since 1992 and owned it since 2002, said that Obama has been a client for quite a while, starting in the 1980s.

When Obama won in 2008, Coye said that it was a whirlwind with press and outside visitors coming in all the time.

"It was crazy," he said. "He would come in, and the next you thing you know, within thirty minutes there's a crowd of people outside, or in the shop. So it was a great to be apart of that."

There's also a new sort of relic in the store that draws crowds. The chair that Obama would sit in during his weekly appointments has become an icon. The president himself even signed it. And Coye said it's things like that chair that attracts more business. But Coye said his goal for the shop is for it to be more than just a place where the President gets his haircut.

"I just want to keep it in the community," he said. "It's been here since 1927. I just want to make sure it's in the community for a hundred years. How about that"
