The Elon University men's basketball team had its seven-game winning streak ended Thursday night as Wofford College defeated the Phoenix 60-50 in Spartanburg, S.C.

The Phoenix held a 22-21 lead at halftime as it stayed in front of a back-and-forth game, but Wofford used a couple big runs in the second half go up 46-36 with 7:03 remaining in the second half. The Terriers kept the lead around ten for the remainder of the game in a rematch of a Phoenix win players called a "brawl" Jan. 20.

Elon shot 38.8 percent from the field and 30.4 from three-point range, making just three three-pointers on 13 attempts in the second half after hitting four in the first frame. The Phoenix hit just 41.7 percent (5-of-12) from the free-throw line.

Wofford sophomore guard Spencer Collins led the game with 16 points, while sophomore guard Karl Cochran chipped in 13 points. Sophomore forward Lee Skinner scored ten points and grabbed six boards.

Elon was led by junior forward Ryley Beaumont's 17 points and seven rebounds and junior guard Sebastian Koch's 12 points. A couple days after being named the Southern Conference Player of the Week, junior forward Lucas Troutman chipped in 10 points in just 25 minutes after sitting out most of the first half in foul trouble.

With the loss, Elon moves to 15-8 overall and 8-3 in SoCon play. Wofford improves to 9-15 overall and 3-8 in the conference.
