Playing one varsity sport is hard enough, but for one Elon athlete, senior Ali Ford, playing two sports is just as much fun as playing one.
Ford was originally recruited to play basketball for the Phoenix, but had always had a passion for softball. During the spring semester of her junior year, once basketball season had ended, Ford tried out for the softball team, and made it.
Now, Ford is the only Elon student athlete to participate in two sports. It is a lot of hard work and requires a lot of commitment, but Ford has found a way to balance both sports equally.

Playing two sports does take its toll, having to travel to multiple away games in places like Alabama and Tennessee; however, Ford knows the importance of maintaining good grades and separating time from athletics and academics.
Ford has enjoyed her time as a basketball and softball player, and is looking forward finishing out her collegiate athletic career in the upcoming weeks. After graduation, Ford will focus fully on basketball, trying to make it to the pro level.
