There has been construction all over campus in the past few months, and starting in less than two weeks, it is coming to the Moseley center parking lot.
The future Inman Admissions Welcome Center will be housed there. Director of Construction Management Brad Moore says Elon will take advantage of fall break to start setting up fences around the future construction site.
Construction will begin on Oct. 18, and the entire process will take around 12 to 14 months. Construction hours will take place from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m., to reduce noise for those who live nearby.
When the project is complete, Moore says a new parking lot will be built north of the admissions center with around 50 parking spaces for visitors and only about 20 spaces for students.
The area will be almost unrecognizable; there will be a new green lawn and a walking path that will connect Young Commons to Koury Business Center.
Moore says that Campus Security will be in charge of where students will be able to park temporarily. Elon Local News reached out to them about their plans but have yet to receive any comment.
