Elon University's associate head coach of women's soccer, Stuart Horne, has been named the head coach of the Campbell University women's soccer program.
His hiring was announced on Wednesday, Dec. 18.
Horne spent the last nine seasons at Elon after serving as the head coach at Chowan University for five years.
Elon's head women's soccer coach Chris Neal congratulated his former assistant, and thanked him for six great years of work.
"Stuart has been instrumental in our success here at Elon University," he said. "His experience and familiarity with Big South women's soccer will serve him well at Campbell."
Horne played an integral part in what was a historic season for the women's soccer team. The Phoenix went 13-3-6 and made its first appearance in the Southern Conference Championship match. Elon's 13 wins marked the most since becoming a Division I program. And for the first time in school history, the Phoenix entered the NSCAA Southeast Regional rankings, finishing 10th overall.
