The Elon University Men's and Women's Tennis teams received their opponents for the NCAA Tournament first round matches at an NCAA Tennis Championships Selection Show viewing party on Tuesday afternoon.
The Men's Tennis team found out it will be playing Tennessee and the Women's team drew Georgia for its opening match.
The Men's team will face off against the Volunteers on May 10 in Durham. In their four-team pod, Tennessee is the No. 2 seed and Elon is the No. 3 seed. The victor will take on the winner of No. 1 seeded Duke and No. 4 seeded Winthrop. The Phoenix beat Duke 4-3 on Jan. 17 in Durham.
The Women's team will travel a bit farther to Athens, Ga., to play the No. 1 overall seeded University of Georgia.
The Phoenix fell to the Bulldogs 4-0 at the ITA Kickoff Weekend in Athens on Jan. 24.
