This fall, Elon welcomes two distinguished journalists to campus for Fall Convocation. Pulitzer-Prize winning couple Nicholas Kristof and Sheryl WuDunn will speak October 2 in Alumni Gym.
The couple won the Pulitzer Prize in 1990 after covering the democracy movement in China's Tiananmen Square for the New York Times. Kristof and WuDunn are the first husband-wife duo to win that award for journalism.
In addition, the couple has co-authored three best-selling books.
Kristof visited Elon back in 2010, when he was the keynote speaker at Spring Convocation. As a reporter, he has been a strong advocate for human rights and even won a second Pulitzer for his column that focused on genocide in Darfur.
WuDunn is the first Asian-American reporter to win the Pulitzer Prize. She was recognized by Newsweek as one of the "150 Women Who Shake the World."
Tickets to see Kristof and WuDunn at Convocation are $13 or free with an Elon ID. Starting September 11, tickets will be available at the Center for the Arts Box Office.
