The beginning of the fall season is a special time for sports fanatics, it marks the beginning of the football season. Whether it be the NCAA or the NFL football, Elon students are eager for the football season.

Students gather around campus to view their favorite teams. Some meet in Varsity - Elon's sports grill, where students can watch most games. Hollers and screams came from downstairs McEwen dining hall Sunday afternoon. Mostly every NFL team was in action, including some of Elon student's favorites from home; the Patriots, the Eagles, the Redskins, the Ravens and more. I visited Varsity on Sunday afternoon to speak with a few of the football fanatics.

"Of course I'm ready; I've got some faith in the Patriots this year" said sophomore Jacob Carney.

Elon football is no different. Although game attendance in previous years has declined, Elon football is beginning their first season in the Colonial Athletic Association this year. The University plans to continue their 'Tailgate' initiative this season, something that seemed to be an amazing step towards improving football attendance in the future.

Elon will host Division II foe North Carolina A&T this Saturday, Sept. 13. Kickoff is set for 6:00 p.m.
