For the second straight year, the Elon University men's basketball team won't be showcased in one of the Colonial Athletic Association regular season games televised by NBCSN.
NBCSN will show five regular season CAA games this season, according to the schedule released by the league Monday, in addition to three games at the CAA Tournament in Baltimore and Northeastern University's game against Michigan State University.
Elon, which went 6-12 in its inaugural CAA campaign last year, advanced to the quarterfinals of the CAA Tournament.
The Phoenix opens its CAA slate at home against reigning champion Northeastern Dec. 31, and wraps up the year at University of Delaware Feb. 27.
Elon plays each CAA team once at home and on the road. Four of Elon's first five CAA games are at home.
The Phoenix returns seniors Tanner Samson and Tony Sabato, in addition to juniors Christian Hairston and Luke Eddy and sophomores Dmitri Thompson and Jack Anton.
Elon hasn't released its nonconference schedule yet. There are a few known dates, though.
For the third time in four years, the Phoenix will host regional games in an exempt tournament. This year, it's the Battle4Atlantis.
Thanksgiving week, Elon will host Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, Furman University and Mount St. Mary's University. Each team will play two games Nov. 26-27 at Alumni Gym.
The Phoenix travels to reigning national champion Duke University on Dec. 28.
Elon will presumably open its season Nov. 13 at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. On Nov. 16, the Phoenix will play at the University of Michigan.
Elon hosts Kennesaw State University Nov. 30.
