After a national search, Ann Adams Bullock will be the next leader of Elon University's School of Education.

Bullock, a former associate professor of education at East Carolina University and chairperson of ECU’s Department of Elementary and Middle Grades Education for the past two years, was chosen for her dedication and passion in creating future educational leaders.

"Dr. Bullock has demonstrated time and again that the best way to prepare future educators is through collaboration," said Provost Steven House. "She works tirelessly with her students, faculty, administrators and local school teachers to not only educate, but inspire, future generations of classroom leaders."

Bullock's experience includes making dozens of presentations at both regional and international professional conferences, leading a team of full-time faculty members and contributing to numerous books and journals focused on supporting aspiring teachers.

Her new role with Elon will begin June 1. Her duties will involve supervising the 22 current full-time faculty members from the School of Education and five full-time faculty members from the College of Arts and Sciences who work with teacher education programs. She will also work toward building and sustaining partnerships that will grow the opportunities for students of the School of Education.

"I am confident that her skills, experience and collaborative nature will result in great things for our students, the School of Education, and Elon University," House said.
