Students faced technology problems when signing up for next year's housing through a new online system today. The issues prompted a cancellation of the housing selection process until further notice, according to an email from associate director of Residence Life MarQuita Barker.
Although some students were able to access the site and complete their housing selection for next year, all selections from tonight will be deleted. The sign up for tomorrow is also cancelled. According to Barker's email, deleting today's processing and postponing the housing selection is to "resolve the issue fairly and equitably for all students."
No date has been set to reschedule the housing selection process and won't be until residence life is "fully confident" that there will not be any more problems. Elon staff are working with the vendor that is hosting the new software to address and resolve the server problems that led to today's situation.
Today's issues did not affect students who renewed their apartments yesterday, February 22.
