Elon received its first snowfall of the school year this weekend.
Students celebrated the first snow of the year around campus by sledding and participating in a snowball fight on Young Commons.
Snow flurries began Friday afternoon at roughly 4 p.m. and lasted well until Saturday morning. The Piedmont Triad area got approximately 6-10 inches of snow overnight. The snowfall has ended, but roads are still covered in a wintery mix, and will likely turn to ice overnight, according to an Elon University E-Alert sent at 6:54 p.m.
