A new bar is coming to Elon.
MaGerks Pub and Grill, a bar established in 2000 now with locations in Philadelphia and Baltimore, plans to open by early April in the old West End Station location.
Owner John Dolaway, who is the father of a freshman student at Elon University, says he decided to open the bar after exploring downtown Elon on move-in day this fall.
“My wife and daughter went to Target because I’m not allowed to go to Target and I walked around and I found this place is closed,” he said. “They should’ve taken me to Target with them.”
The new pub will feature a fully renovated bar and eating space. A menu pulled from MaGerks website shows a variety of cheesesteaks, wings and burgers.
"This is not a stuffy bar. This is not a muscle head bar," Dolaway said. "This is a place to come kick your feet up and enjoy yourself."
"I really want this to be the Elon bar."
