A group of individuals are gathered outside of Elon Community Church at the corner of Haggard Avenue and North Williamson Avenue. The group, who is based in North Carolina, says that they are a part of the ministry Sports Fan Outreach International. Sam Wilking, a resident of Alamance County said that they are not here to protest the rainbow "God's doors are open to all!" doors that are posted outside of the church.

"It's a group of Christians that go to local sporting events and preach the good news of Jesus Christ to people," said Wilking.

Today is the football home opener at Rhodes Stadium.

Wilking said that he was unaware the doors were posted outside of the church, but upon seeing them Wilking disagreed with the message.

"I don't agree with doors, you see Jesus is the only way to heaven," he said.

Gary Perguson, who was passing out fliers to those headed to Rhodes Stadium, said that he does this routinely.

"We do it as often as we can," Perguson said. "I was just at [Appalachian] State last Tuesday. I've traveled. I've been around the world to India, Kenya, Scotland and Israel. I'll be going to the northeast to Massachusetts at the end of October."

The Sports Fan Outreach International Facebook page says it has 20 evangelists across the country today at 16 different college football games.
