The Elon men’s soccer team improved to 4-3 on the season, and 2-0 in conference play, after defeating the College of Charleston Cougars 1-0 on Saturday afternoon.
Senior forward Jack Edwards scored the lone goal of the game - his third this season - in the 27th minute. Freshman forward Petro Klishch assisted on the goal.
The Phoenix controlled the match throughout, outshooting the Cougars 18-8, and 12-5 in just the second half.
It was a strong bounceback performance for the Phoenix, who lost a nail biter in overtime to local rival High Point University on Wednesday night. Elon is now 1-1 during its current three-game road trip.
The team will look to finish their road swing on a high note on Wednesday, Sept. 22 at 6:00 p.m. against Radford.
They will then return home to face conference rivals James Madison University on Saturday, Sept. 25 at 7:00 p.m.
