Elon University President Connie Book will represent the Colonial Athletic Association on the National Collegiate Athletic Association Presidential Forum. Book’s role was announced via Twitter by CAA Commissioner Joe D’Antonio.
The Presidential Forum assists the NCAA Division I Board of Directors in maintaining the association’s strategic mission and brings more administrator involvement to the NCAA. The group is made up of one president or chancellor from each of the 32 division I conferences.
“I would like to thank President Book for her willingness to represent the CAA on the NCAA Division I Presidential Forum,” D’Antonio said in a press release. “She brings an extensive array of experience in higher education to this role, and the entire NCAA membership will benefit from her knowledge and leadership.”
Book, who has been president of Elon University since 2018, will bring more than 20 years of experience in higher education to the new role.
“I look forward to advancing the mission of supporting our student-athletes and representing the CAA on the important challenges and opportunities in college sports today,” Book said in the press release.
