Nadine Jose has been elected Elon University’s student body president with 55% of the votes. The results are final with 1,817 votes cast in this year’s election. Jose this year has served as the School of Communications senator and previously as a campus programs senator.
One of her main initiatives is to amplify student voices through having an open door policy in the SGA office and a suggestion box for student feedback. Jose said she also plans on bringing student issues, like laundry cost and dining hall hours, to senior administration.
“I would like more than just a quarter or a third of our campus to vote, so I think before empowering SGA, people need to know what SGA does,” Jose said.
Jose will be on ELN Morning this Thursday at 10 a.m. to discuss her new position.
