Though Burford has entered his name into the transfer portal, it is not a guarantee he will leave Elon, but it does grant a release so that other schools may contact him about playing for their team next season.
Burford started 31 of Elon’s 32 games last season and averaged a team-high 13.4 points per game. Burford also had team-highs in assists (97) and steals (47) and was named to the All-CAA third team.
Burford joins Hunter McIntosh, Hunter Woods, Zac Ervin and Ben Daugherty in the transfer portal. Burford’s decision comes a week after Mike Schrage announced his resignation as Elon’s head coach.
