Elon is trending on Twitter, but not for the reason one might think.
Twitter has officially accepted Elon Musk’s buyout deal -- selling the social platform for $44 billion.
The transaction, unanimously approved by the Twitter Board of Directors, is expected to close this year, subject to the approval of Twitter stockholders. Once finalized, the social platform will become a privately held company.
"I hope that even my worst critics remain on Twitter, because that is what free speech means," Musk tweeted after the purchase.
