Historian William Ferris will be speaking as a part of the 2022 James P. Elder Lecture series on Thursday, April 14, at 6:30 p.m. in the Whitley Auditorium. The series is devoted to the exploration of scholarship and its impact on the public forum.
Ferris is a professor of history emeritus at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a former chairman of the National Endowment for Humanities. He will speak about his book “I AM A MAN: Photographs of the Civil Rights Movement, 1960-1970,” which is a collection of civil rights photographs and short essays.
