Residence Life has still not responding to Elon News Network’s numerous requests for comment this morning. This comes after students and parents expressed frustration about the housing selection process for next year.
Freshman Olivia Giggey said signing up for housing was confusing, and the selection process lacked transparency. Giggey said residence life failed to answer her questions after she called five times and visited the office twice.
"I feel disregarded as this I think a lot of the freshmen student body and it's frustrating to feel such a love for a place and also feel disregarded at the same time," Giggey said. "It's difficult."
Marissa Vonbeeden has a freshman at Elon and said she feels like the university didn’t listen to the students.
"I'm hoping that they listen to what happened this year, and they kind of try to find a different way to make it work a little better," Vonbeeden said. "So the students don't have a full week of stress about where they're going to live next year. It's a huge part of their college experience."
The residence life website says students who do not have housing can call their office at 336-278-7300. They hope to place students who call within a week of their request.
