Senior guard Brie Perpignan has committed to play for Clemson University’s women’s basketball team as a graduate transfer next season.

“To my family, thank you for the endless support and love. My Elon coaches and teammates, thank you for giving me the opportunity to be a part of the Phoenix family, for trusting and believing and me and molding me to be the leader that I have become and going to battle with the challenges of the season and always pulling through,” Perpignan said in a statement on Instagram.

Perpignan started for Elon each of the last four seasons and led Elon in scoring the last two campaigns. She averaged a career-high 16.6 points per game last season. Perpignan also surpassed 1,000 career points in a game against James Madison University on Feb. 4.

Perpignan, along with all other NCAA athletes who had their seasons impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, was granted an extra year of athletic eligibility, meaning she will be able to play one season at Clemson.
