Two more Elon University men’s basketball players have entered their names into the transfer portal, as sophomore forward Michael Graham and redshirt senior guard Jerald Gillens-Butler are the sixth and seventh players to officially enter the portal.
Though Graham and Gillens-Butler have entered their names into the transfer portal, it is not a guarantee they will leave Elon, but it does grant a release so that other schools may contact them about playing for their team next season.
Graham started every game last season for Elon and averaged 9.3 points per game, the third highest on the team. He also led the team in rebounds with 6.8 per game and had a team-high 41 blocks, which was over 30 more than the next highest total.
Gillens-Butler has played in just 13 games over the last two last seasons due to injury, making eight starts. He started his career at Butler University, playing there for two seasons before transferring to Elon prior to the 2019-20 season. He averaged 5.4 points per game in 10 appearances last season.
Four players have now entered the transfer portal following Mike Schrage’s resignation as head coach last week. Eight of the team’s top nine scorers from last season have either entered the portal or will graduate this offseason.
