Correction: A previous version of this article stated the tables outside Moseley Center were student organizations. The tables were vendors that partnered with Elon University's Student Union Board. Elon News Network regrets this error.

Elon’s Student Union Board hosted the annual fall carnival on Young Commons Aug. 26 from 10:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. where students gathered with snacks and games.

Erica Matkins, member of the Student Union Board Late Night Chair Committee, said her favorite part of the carnival is partnering with the vendors who supply the games. Matkin said some of her favorite activities were laser tag, high striker and inflatables. There were also various vendors with tabling near the Moseley building.

Sophomore Lexi Angermueller said she also loves the games and the chance to relax.

“There is nothing better than competing for some games and trying to win the prize and the excitement of it,” Angermueller said.

Sophomore Beth Resch said having fun campus wide events is important because with the stress of school it’s sometimes hard for her to make time for her friends and meet new people.

“It brings us together as a community and lets us get to know each other,” Resch said.

Matkins said she remembers the carnival being a nice way to make friends her first year at Elon and is excited for other students to have a similar experience this year.

“This event is a nice way for new students to interact with upperclassmen and other new students and just come out, enjoy one anothers company, network and meet new people,” Matkins said.
