For the second straight year, the Elon University dance team has earned a gold bid to compete at the National Dance Alliance Nationals competition.
The defending Division I Hip Hop national champions placed first in the Division I Game Day and Team Dance competitions at last weekend’s NDA Camp in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, to earn the program’s second ever gold bid.
The bid will provide many perks to help the team with its trip to NDA Nationals, including receiving five free hotel rooms, a reduced registration fee per person and first priority on hotel assignment. Last year was the first time the program earned a gold bid.
Additionally, juniors Henna Reid and Phoebe Gamponia earned All-American honors for their performance at the camp. Senior Lucy Allen was also named an NDA staff invitee.
NDA Nationals will take place from April 5 to 9, 2023 in Daytona Beach, Florida, where Elon will look to defend its Division I Hip Hop championship and improve on its third place result in this year’s Pom competition.
