Updated as of March 27 at 11:39 a.m., Elon Student Government Association elections are open again on PhoenixConnect and all issues have been resolved.
Elon University’s Student Government Association elections are temporarily closed. Jose said the issue was voting had been based on students' class standing currently, not their intended graduation year. This means students with additional credit hours would have received the incorrect ballot.
Student Body President Nadine Jose said staff members are actively working to fix the ballot on Phoenix Connect and that voting will resume as soon as possible.
Students who already voted received an email from Jodean Schmiederer, dean of student development, that said their first vote will not count and they are able to vote again.
“Right now it just looks like we're going to close it and then try to get another link out as soon as possible,” Jose said. “We have some staff members already working on it.”
As of 10:30 a.m. March 27, voting on PhoenixCONNECT will still end March 28 at 5 p.m.
