Approximately 12 vehicles were broken into in the Station at Mill Point and roughly 10 were broken into near West Trollinger Avenue in the Town of Elon around 3:30 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 8.
Chief of Campus Safety and Police at Elon Joe LeMire sent a message to the Elon community stating that the Town of Elon Police and University Police responded to multiple parking lot areas in reference to several vehicle break-ins with stolen property.
According to the statement, it appears that the perpetrators targeted vehicles found to be unlocked in all cases. LeMire also wrote that the suspects are four males dressed in dark clothing, driving a 4-door white or silver Kia Forte.
This incident occurs a few days after a suspicious person was reported in and chased out of Colonnades B.
While still under investigation, anyone with information concerning these crimes can contact the University Police Department at 336-278-5555 or the Town of Elon Police Department at 336-584-1301.
“We encourage all members of the community to keep their vehicles secured (locked) when not in use, and to always remove valuables or keep them out of sight,” LeMire wrote.
