Following a thunderstorm in the Alamance-Burlington area Aug. 2, parts of Elon lost power.

At 7:17 p.m., an E-Alert announced that Danieley buildings A,B and C were reported without power. According to Duke Energy’s website, the power is expected to be restored at 1:45 a.m. Aug. 3.

In addition to the power outages in Danieley, the traffic light at the intersection of Williamson Avenue, Lebanon Avenue and Trollinger Avenue has lost power.

According to a Town of Elon Police officer, the town’s transformer and breaker are down because of the storm. While the Elon Police Department does not have an estimate for when Duke Energy employees can arrive on scene, officers are mitigating traffic at Lebanon and Trollinger.

Due to the storm, a tree also fell across from the Root Trackside on West Lebanon Avenue.
