Karaoke, traditional games and unique snacks — all things students can expect from the Chinese Club’s karaoke and game night.

Elon University’s Chinese Club will host its karaoke and game night from 9:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Oct. 4 in the Center for Race, Ethnicity and Diversity Education located upstairs in the Moseley Center.

This is the third year the Chinese Club has hosted the event. The club’s vice president of communications senior Bryn Hall said the event is meant to be calm.

“It's a super chill event,” Hall said. “It's just an opportunity to kind of relax and maybe try something you haven't tried before.”

Beyond karaoke, Hall said the event will feature many traditional Chinese games, such as go and mahjong.

Sophomore Helena Hanzal Childress attended the event last year and said they plan to attend again this year.

“Both karaoke and game nights they had last year were very fun,” Hanzal Childress said. “I remember during gaming, they had some fun Chinese games like mahjong I really enjoy playing.”

Hanzal Childress also said they felt the club’s executive team always does a good job planning events.

“The people who lead it are always very passionate. It's always a good time,” Hanzal Childress said.

After karaoke and game night, Hall said Chinese club has many other events planned for the semester including calligraphy night, movie night and a study night toward finals week.
