Students packed Moseley Center on Feb.14 as Late Night Elon celebrated Valentine's Day with "Stuffed with Love." The event was for students to choose a bear before decorating and stuffing it.

Briston Witt, a coordinator of Student Involvement who organizes Late Night Elon events, said the event was meant to bring people together for the holiday.

"As cliche as it sounds, I do think all we need is love. I think when you get back to the core of that, that is what is most important," Witt said. "I just wanted to create a space where students can come and celebrate that."

After stuffing their bears, students had the opportunity to enjoy the food provided. The event gathered more students than expected. After 30 minutes all the bears were all gone, and the line was still very long. Freshman Aj Bell who was waiting in the line came from Cupid's Card: Healthy Relationships Bingo in hopes of being able to get a bear.

Freshman Shea Locke came to the event for some fun.

“I just figured that it would be a really fun event and just kind of take my mind off from academics,” Locke said.

Locke also said she also came to find friendship.

“That’s why I’m hoping to hopefully build at least some sort of connection,” Locke said.

“Stuffed with Loved” closed out Valentine’s Day events, and students were able to celebrate with friends or with themselves. Witt acknowledged the different styles of love that students could celebrate at this event.

“Whether you’re celebrating romantic love, familial love, love for a friend, or just love of yourself,” Witt said.
