Elon University women’s basketball star Raven Preston announced on social media April 2 that she is transferring to Wake Forest for the 2025-26 season.

Preston, a redshirt sophomore, led the team in scoring this season with 12.3 points per game and also led the team’s effort on the glass with a team-high 8.7 rebounds per game. She was also first in steals and second in assists.

After missing the 2023-24 season due to injury, Preston came out hot this season and helped the team secure a 15-15 record after going 11-21 in the previous season. She was the team’s best scorer this season as the player who had the second most total points, freshman Jayda Angel, scored 70 points less than Preston.

Preston is the second Phoenix to transfer after this recent season. Freshman Alyssa Ervin announced on March 31 she will be transferring to Furman next season.

Redshirt freshman Ava Leroux and juniors Regina Walton and Hannah Dereje have entered the transfer portal, according to the recruiting database On3. Leroux was fifth on the team in points per game and Dereje was fifth in rebounds per game. Leroux and Dereje were also forces in the paint for the Phoenix as they accumulated for just under a quarter of the team’s blocks.
