Tobias LaGrone is running for the U.S. Senate. He is listed among the Democrats but calls himself a “conservative democrat.” LaGrone has lived in the Greensboro area for decades.
Alyssia Rose-Katherine Hammond is a Democrat running for the U.S. Senate because she hopes to eventually be the first Black female president.
With the win, Elon is set to play the number one seeded University of Delaware Blue Hens at 4 p.m. The last time the Phoenix played the Blue Hens was at Delaware, as Elon was swept in a three game series. Head coach Kathy Bocock said she sees this game going differently.

Democratic challenger Kelly White said he plans on bridging gaps within Alamance County between people who have different preconceptions of law enforcement by working with local law enforcement agencies and hearing from residents to understand what they are looking for.
Steve Carter is seeking reelection in the 2022 Alamance County Board of Commissioners race and is the winner of the primary election. Carter received 6,431 ballots, which is 33.88% of the votes.
For district four congressional candidate Ashley Ward, being elected to congress would not just be a personal victory. If elected, she will be able to bring her specific expertise in climate change to the Congress floor. While Ward said it would be a great honor to bring climate change to the forefront, she wishes someone with climate expertise had been elected earlier and brought climate issues to the congress floor.
Elon will play its final non-conference game of the season against North Carolina A&T State University on Tuesday before hosting Towson University, the CAA’s last-place team, for a three game series next weekend.
This is Elon’s fourth CAA team championship, as the team also won in 2021, 2016 and 2015.
The Strawberry Festival had a plant adoption table, strawberry ice cream provided by Elon Dining and plants being grown in the greenhouse, including lettuce, tomatoes, peppers and eggplant. The event also had a live performance by several musicians, along with corn hole and spike ball.

Elon finishes its regular season with a 27-20 record and will play its first two games in the CAA Softball Tournament, which has a double-elimination bracket, on May 12. Elon's seed has not yet been determined.

Elon University is expected to enroll 1,785 students in the class of 2026 entering in fall 2022. This is a 12% increase in enrollment from the previous year.
