Elon University named #1 national university for excellence in undergraduate teaching by U.S. News & World Report

Elon University is ranked No. 1 for excellence in undergraduate teaching by the annual U.S. News & World Report “Best Colleges” Guide, which released rankings on Sept. 13. The university also received a No. 9 ranking in the “Most Innovative” category, tied with University of Michigan Ann Arbor, and was ranked No. 83 overall among national universities.

Marc Reeves earns 100th career win in CAA opener against Delaware

Elon University’s men’s soccer team began its Colonial Athletic Association conference campaign with a 1-0 win against the Delaware Blue Hens at Rudd Field. The game was won with a solitary goal courtesy of Elon University junior and captain Jeppe Jordoson. The victory marked Head Coach Marc Reeves’ 100th career win.

Phoenix trail the Fighting Camels 10-7 at half

The Elon Phoenix finished the first half behind the Campbell University Fighting Camels, 10-7, on Sept. 11, 2021. An unproductive half by both sides led to the low score going into the second half, with the Camels scoring opportunities coming off of a blocked punt and a sack.

Student journalists in 2001 spark coverage for 9/11

“We couldn’t make sense of what was happening that day,” Jennifer Parris, one of the leaders of the Pendulum team covering 9/11 at Elon University, said. “I remember going up to The Pendulum office and regrouping with all of the team like, ‘OK, what do we do now?’ As the university was announcing prayer vigils and meetings and gatherings, we just spread out and tried to cover them the best we could.”

SGA town hall focuses on remembrance of 9/11, 20 years later

Members of Elon University’s Student Government Association met for a town hall meeting focused on the remembrance of 9/11, 20 years later, on Thursday night. Members heard from Mark Dalhouse, director for global education initiatives, and then gathered in groups to discuss their thoughts about the events on 9/11 and how they connect to current events and issues, such as the pandemic, racial equity and inclusion, and mental health of college students.
