BONNER: Elon needs to strengthen sustainability promotion

Not knowing much about sustainability myself, I began to wonder what it means to be sustainable on a college campus, particularly here at Elon University. From daily observations and research, it has struck me that sustainability initiatives are present; however, students might not always follow them or care enough to partake in them.

Volleyball falls to top-ranked Towson

The Elon Phoenix (9-11, 4-3 CAA) fell to the Towson Tigers (16-2, 6-0 CAA) in four sets 3-1 on Sunday afternoon in Schar Center. The Phoenix have now dropped three of their last four conference matches.

Elon volleyball downs Delaware

Elon volleyball (8-10, 4-2 CAA) defeated the Delaware Blue Hens (11-4, 3-2 CAA) in Schar Center on Oct. 13 in five sets after a competitive back and forth game. This was a bounce-back conference win for Elon volleyball after losing their past two previous conference games.

Thinking like a lawyer: Preet Bharara addresses Elon Law

Preet Bharara, former U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York, spoke to Elon University School of Law students and faculty as well as members of the Greensboro community Thursday night. Bharara’s talk, part of the Distinguished Leadership Lecture Series hosted at the Carolina Theatre in Greensboro, centered around his legal experience, and how it informs his day-to-day life.

Sierra Student Coalition promotes local engagement

The Sierra Student Coalition at Elon University works to forge a better relationship between people and the environment. The Sierra Student Coalition is part of the larger non-profit environmental organization, Sierra Club, which has operated in the U.S. since 1892.
