As crisis at home intensifies, Venezuelan students watch from afar

Thousands of miles from Elon, a nation is in crisis. Millions of Venezuelans have left their country in a mass exodus, fleeing a plummeting quality of life. While thousands hike across land borders every day, seeking refuge from food and medicine shortages and street violence, others have departed for the United States, and some of them have ended up here in Elon University.

Reflecting on four Elon men's basketball seniors

The four seniors on the 2018-2019 roster have contributed nearly 4,000 points, 700 assists and 1,700 rebounds over the course of their careers. While those numbers have been the backbone of the Phoenix teams they have played on, things have not always come easy these past four years.

Burlington ICE raids leave lasting fear in the community

Jessica walked into class at Hugh M. Cummings High School the day after U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement raided a mobile trailer park on South Church Street. She said some of her friends were too scared to leave their homes and go to class the next day. Others were afraid to drive on the roads.

Ladies Lifting Night

Campus Recreation and Wellness held its fourth annual Ladies Lifting Night on Monday, Feb. 18, at Elon University as a part of the campuswide Love Your Body Week. Campus Rec. shut down Koury Fitness Center at 8:30 p.m. to prepare for the all-girls weight lifting session.

From Congress to Elon's campus

Former Congressmen Peter Roskam (R-IL) and Glenn English (D-OK) visited Elon University Monday night as part of the Congress to Campus program. The visit, organized by the Stennis Center for Public Leadership and the nonprofit Former Members of Congress, was fashioned to engage with future leaders to provide a sense of what Congress is like as well as educate students on U.S. political institutions while at the same time encourage those to pursue careers in public service.
