Elon men’s soccer outlasted by Delaware Blue Hens in late game thriller

The Elon Phoenix (3-6-1) could not equalize the Blue Hens of Delaware (3-7-0) after a goal midway through the second half broke the Phoenix positive drives. Evident throughout the match was the team's intense desire to win its first Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) conference game this year, but with a low shot count of seven, only one on target, the Phoenix did not come out with the outcome they needed.

Elon begins with the early stages of new strategic planning process

The administrators of Elon University are preparing to write the 2030 Strategic Plan, which will direct the school’s actions in the upcoming decade.  The plan’s creation is four-phase plan. Its initial stage, invitation to participate, has just begun. This stage will be followed by drafting, fine tuning and lastly, implementation in 2020.

Local sweepstakes cafes to close by next Monday

Due to the dangers of online gambling, the Burlington Police Department is starting a crackdown on sweepstakes cafes like Dollar Doz-It starting Oct. 15. This action comes following a string of crime including a murder in 2017.
