Billy D’s officially opens at Elon University

The new retail location was originally set to open at the beginning of fall semester, but was delayed due to issues with the general contractor, according to head chef and owner William Dissen. The location  soft launched Oct. 5 and will be open until 10 p.m. today.

1923 Engagement Committee shares future plans

The 1923 Engagement Committee is focused on remembering the fire that took place on Elon’s campus in 1923. This committee is now working to plan events starting in 2023, as that will be the 100th year anniversary of the fire.

Robert Aguirre, the third and final provost candidate, presented to Elon University students, faculty and staff Oct. 6. He focused on his work as the dean of the College of Arts and Letters at James Madison University, and how that fits in with Elon’s strategic plan.

Kimberly Holt, owner of Pandora’s Pies in downtown Elon, said her decision to close early during the hurricane weather for the safety of her employees meant losing out on business from one her business’s busiest weekends of the year.

Father-son duo spruces up Elon's campus following storm

On the morning of Oct. 1, Chris Breedlove, owner of High Rock Land and Hardscapes Landscaping Company, received a dreaded phone call from Elon University. The university informed him that high winds from Hurricane Ian uprooted trees on campus — the same trees his company had planted only months before.
