Democratic challenger Kelly White said he plans on bridging gaps within Alamance County between people who have different preconceptions of law enforcement by working with local law enforcement agencies and hearing from residents to understand what they are looking for.
Steve Carter is seeking reelection in the 2022 Alamance County Board of Commissioners race and is the winner of the primary election. Carter received 6,431 ballots, which is 33.88% of the votes.
For district four congressional candidate Ashley Ward, being elected to congress would not just be a personal victory. If elected, she will be able to bring her specific expertise in climate change to the Congress floor. While Ward said it would be a great honor to bring climate change to the forefront, she wishes someone with climate expertise had been elected earlier and brought climate issues to the congress floor.

Based on SGA’s new constitution, the speaker of the senate is now an internally elected position. Molin was nominated for the position by Class of 2025 Senator Bo Dalrymple and with a vote of 17 to 0, Molin was appointed.
President Biden addressed a crowd of about 300 in Greensboro today at the Alumni-Foundation Event Center on North Carolina A&T State University’s campus. Biden’s trip to Greensboro today is his third time in North Carolina since he was elected.

Nadine Jose has been elected Elon University’s student body president with 55% of the votes. The results are final with 1,817 votes cast in this year’s election. Jose this year has served as the School of Communications senator and previously as a campus programs senator.
At the Board of Alderman work session on March 28, Aldermen discussed a resolution about the Aspen Avenue development, a new solid waste and recycling contract, and a public hearing for a rezoning request. The board has also transitioned to a new schedule and will meet on the second Tuesday and the fourth Monday each month.
Out of 44 seats available and 18 races for SGA, there are two contested races this spring. Last year, out of the 38 SGA elected positions, there were four vacancies and 12 uncontested positions.
