The Elon men’s soccer team improved to 4-3 on the season, and 2-0 in conference play, after defeating the College of Charleston Cougars 1-0 on Saturday afternoon. The team will look to finish their road swing on a high note on Wednesday, Sept. 22 at 6:00 p.m. against Radford.
Elon University’s volleyball team completed a weekend sweep of the College of Charleston Cougars with a four set victory on Saturday, Sept. 18. Senior outside hitter Leah Daniel surpassed 1,000 kills for her career during the frame. Daniel is the first Elon player to reach the milestone since Kam Terry did so in 2018.
For the first time since 2012, Elon University’s football team traveled to a sold out Kidd Brewer Stadium in Boone for a road game against Appalachian State. Despite a tight first half, the Phoenix fell 44-10 to the Mountaineers. The Phoenix (1-2) return home next week to take on William & Mary on Family Weekend.

The Phoenix avenged their losses to the College of Charleston Cougars on Friday, Sept. 17 in its first Colonial Athletic Association match. With this win, the Phoenix improved to 6-5 in the season. The team will move forward in CAA play on Saturday, Sept. 18 when they face the Cougars again.

The Phoenix have now shut out its last three opponents. The team has not allowed a goal since its match on Sept. 5 against North Carolina State University.

With a blistering time of 16:49 in the women’s 5k race, Elon University junior Maria Ahm placed first in the Firetower Project cross country meet in Boone, N.C.

The Elon University football team scraped together it’s first win of the 2021 season and first win since February of 2020, against the Campbell University Fighting Camels, 24-23.
The Elon Phoenix finished the first half behind the Campbell University Fighting Camels, 10-7, on Sept. 11, 2021. An unproductive half by both sides led to the low score going into the second half, with the Camels scoring opportunities coming off of a blocked punt and a sack.
