Summers enters the winter of his Elon career

It’s the end of the Elon football journey for senior running back Malcolm Summers. The senior announced on Twitter Thursday night. After not playing the previous two games for the Phoenix, and speculation swirling on when, or if, the deep back would return; Summers closed the book officially on his career two days before Elon’s game against the University of Rhode Island.

Elon football sits at No. 5 in mid-season poll

Elon University’s football team clocked in at No. 5 (5-2, 3-1) in the first, and only top-10 ranking the NCAA Division I Football Championship Committee will release until the final playoff bracket becomes available at the end of the season.

Elon volleyball loses to Northeastern in straight sets

Elon University volleyball (13-10, 4-7) lost in straight sets Friday evening to the Northeastern University Huskies (13-11, 6-5). This was the Phoenix’s second loss to the Huskies in less than a month, snapping their five-game winning streak. For the Huskies, this is their second win in a row, after having dropped their previous three.

Football returns to the top 10

Elon University Football (5-2, 3-1) moved to No. 8 in the country in the STATS Top-25 poll and No. 6 in the FCS Coaches Poll following their win on Saturday over the University of Richmond Spiders 38-28. This is the third time this season that Elon has cracked the top 10 this season.

Elon's playoff hopes end with home loss to Hofstra

The Elon Phoenix celebrated senior night by taking on Hofstra University on Saturday night under the lights. The Phoenix were unable to pull out the victory, finishing the year winless at home. Elon’s playoff hopes are gone, as they needed a win to qualify for the tournament.

Football bounces back, beats Richmond

Elon football (5-2, 3-1) got back into the win column against a struggling University of Richmond (3-5, 1-4) at Rhodes Stadium on Saturday. An unfamiliar looking Phoenix squad was able to prevail in a seesaw contest that went down to the wire.

PREVIEW: Elon hosts Richmond

Elon football (4-2, 2-1) is taking on University of Richmond (3-4, 1-3) on Saturday, Oct. 20 during Inauguration Weekend in front of their home fans at Rhodes Stadium. The Phoenix is clocking in before the game at No. 11 in the nation in both the FCS Coaches Poll and the STATS FCS Top-25. Elon suffered its first FCS loss of the season last week while on the road against the University of Delaware.

Elon University football (4-2, 2-1) fell to No. 11 in both the FCS Coaches Poll and in the STATS FCS Top 25. This comes on the heels of the team’s 28-16 loss – its first FCS loss of the year – against the University of Delaware.

Football falls on the road to Delaware

No. 5 Elon Football (4-2) fell to the University of Delaware (4-2) on Saturday 28-16. Elon was hampered by injuries that could prove to be much more costly than losing this game. This loss comes just one week after beating James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia.

Goodrum and No. 13 UNCW take down Elon

The Elon University Phoenix (3-7-1) took on the University of North Carolina Wilmington Seahawks (9-2-1) ranked No. 13 in the country on Wednesday night. In the on-and-off rain and intense humidity, the Phoenix were unable to break a six-game winless streak against the Seahawks who were yet to lose a game in the CAA conference, falling 2-0.
