The Elon University Phoenix women’s basketball team (12-11, 7-5 CAA) defeated the Hofstra Pride (3-20, 0-12 CAA) in a Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) matchup Friday night at the Schar Center.
Elon lacrosse (1-0) routed the Campbell University Camels 12-5 (0-1) for its season opener against on Saturday afternoon. The Phoenix repeated dominance from last year’s opener when they defeated the Camels 15-5 on the road.

Elon University women’s basketball (2-2) traveled to head coach Charlotte Smith’s alma mater where they took on the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Tar Heels (4-0) and lost 76-46.

The Elon University Phoenix fell to the College of William and Mary 31-29 in five rounds of overtime, the longest the Phoenix have played in its history. The loss comes after a total of three missed field goals for the Phoenix, and seven missed field goals for the Tribe.
The Elon University cross-country teams are looking to end the season with another NCAA Regional Championship appearance. However, before punching their ticket to Charlottesville, Virginia, they will be traveling to New Market, Virginia, for the Colonial Athletic Association Championship on Friday Nov. 15.
Elon University men’s basketball battled hard in their final exhibition game, before the regular season begins. The Phoenix hosted Indiana University of Pennsylvania at the Schar Center on Wednesday, Oct. 30. The Phoenix beat the Hawks 79-71 in overtime.
Elon volleyball (8-10, 4-2 CAA) defeated the Delaware Blue Hens (11-4, 3-2 CAA) in Schar Center on Oct. 13 in five sets after a competitive back and forth game. This was a bounce-back conference win for Elon volleyball after losing their past two previous conference games.
