Local gardener expands company; finds personal growth
Robert Thomas, or “Gardener Bob” as Elon students know him, is embarking on his second year through local farmers markets.
Caroline Mitchell '24 is studying journalism and public policy at Elon University. Outside of Elon News Network, Mitchell is the Director of Creative Production for Live Oak Communications, the School of Communications Senator for Elon's Student Government Association, and is also involved in other communications-related organizations on campus. She also helps to produce student-run shows and social media content for ETSV and other on-campus organizations. After graduation, Mitchell hopes to continue working in the design field, focusing on editorial design or creative advertising. Click here to see Mitchell's best work.
Robert Thomas, or “Gardener Bob” as Elon students know him, is embarking on his second year through local farmers markets.
Ferris is a professor of history emeritus at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a former chairman of the National Endowment for Humanities. He will speak about his book “I AM A MAN: Photographs of the Civil Rights Movement, 1960-1970,” which is a collection of civil rights photographs and short essays.
The Senior Baccalaureate will be followed by the senior celebration on Wednesday, May 18, in Rhodes Stadium. Families can join members of the graduating class at Commencement Week events on Thursday, May 19, and Friday, May 20.
The rescheduled event will take place in the Whitley Auditorium, where admission is $15 or free of charge with an Elon ID.
English professor Prudence Layne teaches African American studies at Elon University. Layne’s 22 years teaching at Elon have taught her many things, but if there is anything that has stood out, it’s that education surrounding African American and Black history is overlooked.
