I was born and raised in North Carolina. Raleigh, specifically. And maybe it was just the school I went to, or the neighborhood I grew up in, but most people I knew weren’t originally from North Carolina.

Keystone Pipeline not worth its weight in oil

The payoffs are minimal and the risks are incalculable, at least for the United States.  But for TransCanada, the Canadian company in charge of the Keystone Pipeline, the project has sizable value. There’s a lot of misinformation surrounding the Keystone Pipeline.

United, not divided by space exploration

A few weeks ago, the United States and the world mourned the loss of a legend. Aug. 25, Neil Armstrong died, 43 years after being the first human being to step foot on the moon.  But as one of only 12 men to walk on the moon, and only a few dozen more to escape the Earth’s atmosphere, his death should serve to remind us of our place in the universe, and our waning attempts to change it. America today is not the same country it was in the 1960s.  We’re not trying to outpace a rival superpower, and we’re nowhere near as financially stable as we were four decades ago.  Space travel, while once the collective vision of a nation, is now the casually ignored vision of the overly idealistic.

Not Quite a Hero

Tim Tebow is not ashamed to be a Christian. He’s not ashamed to admit he’s a virgin, and he’s not ashamed that God just might be a Broncos fan.  And boy, does he like people to know it. Tebow has been called courageous for his candor, unafraid to wear his heart on his sleeve.  He advocates traditional Christian values in a world that is supposedly against them.
